How To Install xkb-data on Kali Linux

What is xkb-data
xkb-data is:
This package contains configuration data used by the X Keyboard Extension (XKB), which allows selection of keyboard layouts when using a graphical interface.
Every X11 vendor provides its own XKB data files, so keyboard layout designers have to send their layouts to several places. The xkeyboard-config project has been launched at FreeDesktop in order to provide a central repository that could be used by all vendors.
There are three methods to install xkb-data on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xkb-data Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xkb-data using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xkb-dataInstall xkb-data Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xkb-data using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xkb-dataInstall xkb-data Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xkb-data using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install xkb-dataHow To Uninstall xkb-data on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the xkb-data package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xkb-dataUninstall xkb-data And Its Dependencies
To uninstall xkb-data and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xkb-dataRemove xkb-data Configurations and Data
To remove xkb-data configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xkb-dataRemove xkb-data configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove xkb-data configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge xkb-dataDependencies
