How To Install xhtml1-dtds on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install xhtml1-dtds on CentOS 8.
What is xhtml1-dtds
This provides the DTDs of the Second Edition of XHTML 1.0, a reformulation of HTML 4 as an XML 1.0 application, and three DTDs corresponding to the ones defined by HTML 4. The semantics of the elements and their attributes are defined in the W3C Recommendation for HTML 4. These semantics provide the foundation for future extensibility of XHTML.
We can use yum or dnf to install xhtml1-dtds on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xhtml1-dtds.
Install xhtml1-dtds on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install xhtml1-dtds using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install xhtml1-dtds
Install xhtml1-dtds on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install xhtml1-dtds using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install xhtml1-dtds
How To Uninstall xhtml1-dtds on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the xhtml1-dtds package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove xhtml1-dtds
