How To Install xfonts-tipa on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install xfonts-tipa on Kali Linux.
What is xfonts-tipa
xfonts-tipa is:
TIPA is a system for processing IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) symbols in LaTeX written by Fukui Rei. TIPA stands for either TeX IPA or Tokyo IPA and derived from the tsipa package, made in 1992 by Kobayashi Hajime, Fukui Rei and Shirakawa Shun.
This package contains type 1 version of the TIPA fonts for the X Window system. It contains the pfb and afm files. The installed X font has the silipa encoding (see http://www.sil.org/computing/fonts/encore-ipa.html).
There are three methods to install xfonts-tipa on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xfonts-tipa Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xfonts-tipa using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xfonts-tipaInstall xfonts-tipa Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xfonts-tipa using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xfonts-tipaInstall xfonts-tipa Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xfonts-tipa using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install xfonts-tipaHow To Uninstall xfonts-tipa on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the xfonts-tipa package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xfonts-tipaUninstall xfonts-tipa And Its Dependencies
To uninstall xfonts-tipa and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xfonts-tipaRemove xfonts-tipa Configurations and Data
To remove xfonts-tipa configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xfonts-tipaRemove xfonts-tipa configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove xfonts-tipa configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge xfonts-tipaDependencies
