How To Install xfig-doc on Ubuntu 18.04

What is xfig-doc
xfig-doc is:
XFig is a menu-driven tool that allows the user to draw and manipulate objects interactively in an X window. The resulting pictures can be saved. If the fig2dev program is installed, which is contained in the fig2dev package, the pictures can be printed on postscript printers or converted to a variety of other formats (e.g. to allow inclusion in LaTeX documents or web pages).
This package contains on-line documentation in HTML and PDF formats as well as the graphics examples distributed with XFig.
There are three methods to install xfig-doc on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xfig-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xfig-doc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xfig-doc
Install xfig-doc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install xfig-doc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xfig-doc
Install xfig-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install xfig-doc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install xfig-doc
How To Uninstall xfig-doc on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the xfig-doc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xfig-doc
Uninstall xfig-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall xfig-doc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xfig-doc
Remove xfig-doc Configurations and Data
To remove xfig-doc configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xfig-doc
Remove xfig-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove xfig-doc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge xfig-doc
