A menu with quick access to folders, documents, and removable media. The Places plugin brings much of the functionality of GNOME’s Places menu to Xfce. It puts a simple button on the panel. Clicking on this button opens up a menu with 4 sections 1) System-defined directories (home folder, trash, desktop, file system) 2) Removable media 3) User-defined bookmarks (reads ~/.gtk-bookmarks) 4) Recent documents submenu (requires GTK v2.10 or greater)

Install xfce4-places-plugin on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install xfce4-places-plugin using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install xfce4-places-plugin
Install xfce4-places-plugin on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install xfce4-places-plugin using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install xfce4-places-plugin
How To Uninstall xfce4-places-plugin on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the xfce4-places-plugin package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove xfce4-places-plugin
