What is xfce4-dict
Xfce4 Dictionary is a client program to query different dictionaries. It can query a Dict server (RFC 2229), open online dictionaries in a web browser or verify the spelling of a word using enchant. This package contains the stand-alone application, that can be used in different desktop environments too.
We can use yum or dnf to install xfce4-dict on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xfce4-dict.
Install xfce4-dict on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install xfce4-dict using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install xfce4-dict
Install xfce4-dict on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install xfce4-dict using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install xfce4-dict
How To Uninstall xfce4-dict on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the xfce4-dict package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove xfce4-dict
