XEmacs is a highly customizable open source text editor and application development system. It is protected under the GNU General Public License and related to other versions of Emacs, in particular GNU Emacs. Its emphasis is on modern graphical user interface support and an open software development model, similar to Linux. This package contains byte-compiled lisp and other common files for XEmacs.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install xemacs-common

Install xemacs-common on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install xemacs-common
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install xemacs-common
Install xemacs-common on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install xemacs-common
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install xemacs-common
How To Uninstall xemacs-common on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the xemacs-common
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove xemacs-common
