How To Install xcal on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install xcal on Kali Linux.
What is xcal
xcal is:
The “classic” calendar app with memos and alarms, xcal normally sits idle and displays the date. When clicked on, pops up a `strip' for this month. Clicking on a day allows you to enter details. Automatically parses times entered, and reminds you 5 minutes before your appointment.
Supports daily and weekly repeating events and context-sensitive help.
There are three methods to install xcal on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xcal Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xcal using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xcalInstall xcal Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xcal using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xcalInstall xcal Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xcal using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install xcalHow To Uninstall xcal on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the xcal package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xcalUninstall xcal And Its Dependencies
To uninstall xcal and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xcalRemove xcal Configurations and Data
To remove xcal configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xcalRemove xcal configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove xcal configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge xcalDependencies
