How To Install xbuilder on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install xbuilder on Kali Linux.
What is xbuilder
xbuilder is:
This package contains scripts to run a batch-job of cross-builds, using various methods, on a list of source packages. It also has a simple cross-bootstraping helper (using build-profiles), and scripts for generating html tables summarising the results of a build run, and generating the packagelists to build.
It is not a proper buildd, or smart in any way, just really a collection of scripts wrtten for a particular task. Nevertheless they remain useful for this particular job.
There are three methods to install xbuilder on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xbuilder Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xbuilder using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xbuilderInstall xbuilder Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xbuilder using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xbuilderInstall xbuilder Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xbuilder using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the xbuilder package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xbuilderUninstall xbuilder And Its Dependencies
To uninstall xbuilder and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xbuilderRemove xbuilder Configurations and Data
To remove xbuilder configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xbuilderRemove xbuilder configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
