In this tutorial we learn how to install xbean on CentOS 7.

What is xbean

The goal of XBean project is to create a plugin based server analogous to Eclipse being a plugin based IDE. XBean will be able to discover, download and install server plugins from an Internet based repository. In addition, we include support for multiple IoC systems, support for running with no IoC system, JMX without JMX code, lifecycle and class loader management, and a rock solid Spring integration.

We can use yum or dnf to install xbean on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xbean.

Install xbean on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install xbean using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install xbean

Install xbean on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install xbean using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install xbean

How To Uninstall xbean on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the xbean package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove xbean
