How To Install xapian-doc on Kali Linux

The Xapian search engine library is a highly adaptable toolkit which allows developers to easily add advanced indexing and search facilities to their own applications. It implements the probabilistic model of information retrieval, and provides facilities for performing ranked free-text searches, relevance feedback, phrase searching, boolean searching, stemming, and simultaneous update and searching. It is highly scalable, and is capable of working with collections containing hundreds of millions of documents.
There are three methods to install xapian-doc on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xapian-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xapian-doc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xapian-docInstall xapian-doc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xapian-doc using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the xapian-doc package we can use the following command:

To remove xapian-doc configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
