How To Install xandikos on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install xandikos on Kali Linux.
What is xandikos
xandikos is:
Xandikos is a standards-compliant CalDAV/CardDAV server that backs onto a Git repository.
It supports the following standards:
- RFC4918/RFC2518 (Core WebDAV) - implemented, except for COPY/MOVE/LOCK
- RFC4791 (CalDAV) - fully implemented
- RFC6352 (CardDAV) - fully implemented
- RFC5397 (Current Principal) - fully implemented
- RFC3253 (Versioning Extensions) - partially implemented
- RFC3744 (Access Control) - partially implemented
- RFC5995 (POST to create members) - fully implemented
Xandikos (????????) takes its name from the name of the February month in the ancient Macedonian calendar, used in Macedon in the first millennium BC.
There are three methods to install xandikos on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xandikos Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xandikos using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xandikosInstall xandikos Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xandikos using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xandikosInstall xandikos Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install xandikos using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install xandikosHow To Uninstall xandikos on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the xandikos package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xandikosUninstall xandikos And Its Dependencies
To uninstall xandikos and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xandikosRemove xandikos Configurations and Data
To remove xandikos configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xandikosRemove xandikos configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove xandikos configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge xandikosDependencies
