How To Install x11vnc on Ubuntu 22.04

What is x11vnc
x11vnc is:
x11vnc allows one to view remotely and interact with real X displays (i.e. a display corresponding to a physical monitor, keyboard, and mouse) with any VNC viewer. It has built-in SSL encryption and authentication, UNIX account and password support, server-side scaling, single port HTTPS and VNC, mDNS service advertising, and TightVNC and UltraVNC file-transfer.
There are three methods to install x11vnc
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude

Install x11vnc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install x11vnc
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install x11vnc

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install x11vnc
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install x11vnc
Install x11vnc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install x11vnc
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install x11vnc
How To Uninstall x11vnc on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the x11vnc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove x11vnc
Uninstall x11vnc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall x11vnc
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove x11vnc
Remove x11vnc Configurations and Data
To remove x11vnc
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge x11vnc
Remove x11vnc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove x11vnc
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
