What is woff2
Web Open Font Format (WOFF) 2.0 is an update to the existing WOFF 1.0 with improved compression that is achieved by using the Brotli algorithm. The primary purpose of the WOFF2 format is to efficiently package fonts linked to Web documents by means of CSS @font-face rules.
We can use yum or dnf to install woff2 on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install woff2.
Install woff2 on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install woff2 using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install woff2
Install woff2 on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install woff2 using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install woff2
How To Uninstall woff2 on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the woff2 package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove woff2
