How To Install wmwork on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install wmwork on Kali Linux.
What is wmwork
wmwork is:
wmwork provides a monitor on a 64x64 mini window that helps you keeping track of your time. The idea is based on the program Worklog written by Truxton King Fulton II. In contrast to Worklog wmwork is a graphical application designed to work with the WindowMaker dock, but will work with other window managers as well. wmwork’s upstream homepage can be found at http://www.godisch.de/debian/wmwork/.
There are three methods to install wmwork on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install wmwork Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install wmwork using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install wmworkInstall wmwork Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install wmwork using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install wmworkInstall wmwork Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install wmwork using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install wmworkHow To Uninstall wmwork on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the wmwork package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove wmworkUninstall wmwork And Its Dependencies
To uninstall wmwork and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove wmworkRemove wmwork Configurations and Data
To remove wmwork configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge wmworkRemove wmwork configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove wmwork configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge wmworkDependencies
