How To Install wmnd-snmp on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install wmnd-snmp on Kali Linux.
What is wmnd-snmp
wmnd-snmp is:
Shows a graph of incoming/outgoing traffic, activity indicators for rx/tx and current/maximum rate for rx/tx in bytes or packets.
The SNMP input driver can use any IF-MIB compliant data source such as most routers and managed switches.
Tailored for use with WindowMaker, it will as well work with any other window manager though.
There are three methods to install wmnd-snmp on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install wmnd-snmp Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install wmnd-snmp using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install wmnd-snmpInstall wmnd-snmp Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install wmnd-snmp using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install wmnd-snmpInstall wmnd-snmp Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install wmnd-snmp using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install wmnd-snmpHow To Uninstall wmnd-snmp on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the wmnd-snmp package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove wmnd-snmpUninstall wmnd-snmp And Its Dependencies
To uninstall wmnd-snmp and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove wmnd-snmpRemove wmnd-snmp Configurations and Data
To remove wmnd-snmp configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge wmnd-snmpRemove wmnd-snmp configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove wmnd-snmp configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge wmnd-snmpDependencies
