How To Install wmix on Debian 10
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install wmix
on Debian 10.
What is wmix
wmix is:
Allows toggling record source, muting individual channels, adjusting volume and balance, all in a compact dockapp size, with TV-like on-screen-display for volume levels.
Supports mousewheel to adjust current channelvolume and can be controlled remotely with SIGUSR1 / SIGUSR2 to adjust the volume. Keeps a simple configuration file for user-defined settings.
There are three methods to install wmix
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude

Install wmix Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install wmix
using apt-get
by running the following command:

After updating apt database, We can install wmix

How To Uninstall wmix on Debian 10
To uninstall only the wmix
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove wmix

To uninstall wmix
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove wmix
Remove wmix Configurations and Data
To remove wmix
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge wmix
