How To Install wmcube on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install wmcube on Kali Linux.
What is wmcube
wmcube is:
wmcube is a dockapp that displays a realtime rotating 3D object which indicates current CPU load. The higher the load, the faster the object spins. On SMP machines one instance can be run for each processor.
Originally wmcube could spin only a cube, hence the name.
There are three methods to install wmcube on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install wmcube Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install wmcube using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install wmcubeInstall wmcube Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install wmcube using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install wmcubeInstall wmcube Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install wmcube using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install wmcubeHow To Uninstall wmcube on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the wmcube package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove wmcubeUninstall wmcube And Its Dependencies
To uninstall wmcube and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove wmcubeRemove wmcube Configurations and Data
To remove wmcube configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge wmcubeRemove wmcube configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
