How To Install wcslib-dev on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install wcslib-dev on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is wcslib-dev
wcslib-dev is:
WCSLIB is a C library, supplied with a full set of Fortran wrappers, that implements the “World Coordinate System” (WCS) standard in FITS (Flexible Image Transport System).
PGSBOX draws and labels a curvilinear coordinate grid. The caller must provide a separate external function, NLFUNC, to define the non-linear coordinate transformation.
This package contains the static libraries and the C header files.
There are three methods to install wcslib-dev on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

After updating apt database, We can install wcslib-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install wcslib-dev
How To Uninstall wcslib-dev on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the wcslib-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove wcslib-dev
Uninstall wcslib-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall wcslib-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove wcslib-dev
Remove wcslib-dev Configurations and Data
To remove wcslib-dev configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge wcslib-dev
Remove wcslib-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove wcslib-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge wcslib-dev
