How To Install wavpack on Kali Linux

What is wavpack

wavpack is:

WavPack is a completely open audio compression format providing lossless, high-quality lossy, and a unique hybrid compression mode. Although the technology is loosely based on previous versions of WavPack, the new version 4 format has been designed from the ground up to offer unparalleled performance and functionality.

This package contains an encoder and decoder for wavpack files.

There are three methods to install wavpack on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install wavpack Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install wavpack using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install wavpack

Install wavpack Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install wavpack using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install wavpack

Install wavpack Using aptitude

To uninstall only the wavpack package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove wavpack

To uninstall wavpack and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove wavpack

To remove wavpack configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge wavpack
