How To Install watcher-common on Kali Linux

What is watcher-common

watcher-common is:

OpenStack Watcher provides a flexible and scalable resource optimization service for multi-tenant OpenStack-based clouds. Watcher provides a complete optimization loop-including everything from a metrics receiver, complex event processor and profiler, optimization processor and an action plan applier. This provides a robust framework to realize a wide range of cloud optimization goals, including the reduction of data center operating costs, increased system performance via intelligent virtual machine migration, increased energy efficiency-and more!

This package contains common files and configuration that are needed by all the daemon packages of Watcher.

There are three methods to install watcher-common on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install watcher-common Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install watcher-common using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install watcher-common

Install watcher-common Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install watcher-common using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install watcher-common

Install watcher-common Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install watcher-common using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install watcher-common
