How To Install watcher-api on Kali Linux

What is watcher-api
watcher-api is:
OpenStack Watcher provides a flexible and scalable resource optimization service for multi-tenant OpenStack-based clouds. Watcher provides a complete optimization loop-including everything from a metrics receiver, complex event processor and profiler, optimization processor and an action plan applier. This provides a robust framework to realize a wide range of cloud optimization goals, including the reduction of data center operating costs, increased system performance via intelligent virtual machine migration, increased energy efficiency-and more!
This package contains the Watcher API server.
There are three methods to install watcher-api
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install watcher-api Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install watcher-api
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install watcher-api
Install watcher-api Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install watcher-api
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install watcher-api
Install watcher-api Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install watcher-api
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install watcher-api
How To Uninstall watcher-api on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the watcher-api
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove watcher-api
Uninstall watcher-api And Its Dependencies
To uninstall watcher-api
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove watcher-api
Remove watcher-api Configurations and Data
To remove watcher-api
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge watcher-api
Remove watcher-api configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove watcher-api
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge watcher-api
