How To Install wapiti on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install wapiti on CentOS 8.
What is wapiti
Wapiti allows you to audit the security of your web applications. It performs “black-box” scans, i.e. it does not study the source code of the application but will scans the web pages of the deployed web app, looking for scripts and forms where it can inject data. Once it gets this list, Wapiti acts like a fuzzer, injecting payloads to see if a script is vulnerable.
We can use yum or dnf to install wapiti on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install wapiti.
Install wapiti on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install wapiti using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install wapiti
Install wapiti on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install wapiti using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install wapiti
How To Uninstall wapiti on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the wapiti package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove wapiti
