How To Install w3cam on Ubuntu 18.04

w3cam is:
w3cam is a simple CGI to retrieve images from video4linux device. In other words this program will only run on Linux machines which support a video4linux-device.
w3cam supports a plain mode and a gui mode. In the gui mode a html with a form is supplied to change some parameters with the mouse
There are three methods to install w3cam on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install w3cam Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install w3cam using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install w3cam
Install w3cam Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install w3cam using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install w3cam
Install w3cam Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install w3cam using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install w3cam
How To Uninstall w3cam on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the w3cam package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove w3cam
Uninstall w3cam And Its Dependencies
To uninstall w3cam and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove w3cam
Remove w3cam Configurations and Data
To remove w3cam configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge w3cam
Remove w3cam configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove w3cam configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
