How To Install vtk-openmpi on AlmaLinux 8

What is vtk-openmpi
VTK is an open-source software system for image processing, 3D graphics, volume rendering and visualization. VTK includes many advanced algorithms (e.g., surface reconstruction, implicit modeling, decimation) and rendering techniques (e.g., hardware-accelerated volume rendering, LOD control). NOTE
We can use yum or dnf to install vtk-openmpi on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install vtk-openmpi.
Install vtk-openmpi on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install vtk-openmpi using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install vtk-openmpi
Install vtk-openmpi on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install vtk-openmpi using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install vtk-openmpi
How To Uninstall vtk-openmpi on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the vtk-openmpi package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove vtk-openmpi
