How To Install vrms on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install vrms on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is vrms
vrms is:
The vrms program will analyze the set of currently-installed packages on a Debian-based system, and report all of the packages from the non-free and contrib trees which are currently installed.
In some cases, the opinions of Richard M. Stallman and the Debian project have diverged since this program was originally written. In such cases, this program follows the Debian Free Software Guidelines.
Note that vrms is not limited to Debian systems only (which means that it also works with Debian-derived distributions such as Ubuntu). It is also not limited to Linux-based systems.

Install vrms Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install vrms using apt by running the following command:

Install vrms Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install vrms using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install vrms
How To Uninstall vrms on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the vrms package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove vrms
Uninstall vrms And Its Dependencies
To uninstall vrms and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove vrms
Remove vrms Configurations and Data
To remove vrms configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge vrms
Remove vrms configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove vrms configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge vrms
