How To Install voms-dev on Kali Linux

What is voms-dev
voms-dev is:
The Virtual Organization Membership Service (VOMS) is an attribute authority which serves as central repository for VO user authorization information, providing support for sorting users into group hierarchies, keeping track of their roles and other attributes in order to issue trusted attribute certificates and SAML assertions used in the Grid environment for authorization purposes.
This package provides header files for programming with the VOMS libraries.
There are three methods to install voms-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install voms-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install voms-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install voms-devInstall voms-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install voms-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install voms-devInstall voms-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install voms-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install voms-devHow To Uninstall voms-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the voms-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove voms-devUninstall voms-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall voms-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove voms-devRemove voms-dev Configurations and Data
To remove voms-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge voms-devRemove voms-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove voms-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge voms-devDependencies
