What is voms-api-java
The Virtual Organization Membership Service (VOMS) is an attribute authority which serves as central repository for VO user authorization information, providing support for sorting users into group hierarchies, keeping track of their roles and other attributes in order to issue trusted attribute certificates and SAML assertions used in the Grid environment for authorization purposes. This package provides a java client API for VOMS.
We can use yum or dnf to install voms-api-java on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install voms-api-java.
Install voms-api-java on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install voms-api-java using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install voms-api-java
Install voms-api-java on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install voms-api-java using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install voms-api-java
How To Uninstall voms-api-java on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the voms-api-java package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove voms-api-java
