How To Install visualvm on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install visualvm on Kali Linux.
What is visualvm
visualvm is:
VisualVM is a visual tool integrating several commandline JDK tools and lightweight profiling capabilities. Designed for both production and development time use, it further enhances the capability of monitoring and performance analysis for the Java SE platform.
VisualVM is designed for
- Application Developers: Monitor, profile, take thread dumps, browse heap dumps.
- System Administrators: Monitor and control Java applications across the entire network.
- Java Application Users: Create bug reports containing all the necessary information.
There are three methods to install visualvm on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install visualvm Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install visualvm using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install visualvmInstall visualvm Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install visualvm using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install visualvmInstall visualvm Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install visualvm using aptitude by running the following command:

To uninstall only the visualvm package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove visualvmUninstall visualvm And Its Dependencies
To uninstall visualvm and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove visualvmRemove visualvm Configurations and Data
To remove visualvm configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge visualvmRemove visualvm configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove visualvm configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
