How To Install vim-tiny on Kali Linux

What is vim-tiny
vim-tiny is:
Vim is an almost compatible version of the UNIX editor Vi.
This package contains a minimal version of Vim compiled with no GUI and a small subset of features. This package’s sole purpose is to provide the vi binary for base installations.
If a vim binary is wanted, try one of the following more featureful packages: vim, vim-nox, vim-athena, or vim-gtk3.
There are three methods to install vim-tiny on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install vim-tiny Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install vim-tiny using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install vim-tinyInstall vim-tiny Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install vim-tiny using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install vim-tinyInstall vim-tiny Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install vim-tiny using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install vim-tinyHow To Uninstall vim-tiny on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the vim-tiny package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove vim-tinyUninstall vim-tiny And Its Dependencies
To uninstall vim-tiny and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove vim-tinyRemove vim-tiny Configurations and Data
To remove vim-tiny configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge vim-tinyRemove vim-tiny configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
