How To Install vdr-plugin-xine on Ubuntu 18.04

What is vdr-plugin-xine
vdr-plugin-xine is:
Plugin for vdr which allows you to use xine, gxine or some other frontend for libxine as a display, instead of relying on an MPEG decoder / TV output card.
xine >= 0.99.2 and gxine >= 0.4.0 have built-in support for vdr. Other frontends may need to be patched.
If you want to use the SVDRP ‘grab’ command, you’ll need mjpegtools (from Christian Marillat’s archive) and y4mscaler.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

How To Uninstall vdr-plugin-xine on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the vdr-plugin-xine package we can use the following command:

We can use the following command to remove vdr-plugin-xine configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge vdr-plugin-xine
