How To Install vdr-plugin-xine on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install vdr-plugin-xine on Kali Linux.
What is vdr-plugin-xine
vdr-plugin-xine is:
Plugin for vdr which allows you to use xine, gxine or some other frontend for libxine as a display, instead of relying on an MPEG decoder / TV output card.
xine >= 0.99.2 and gxine >= 0.4.0 have built-in support for vdr. Other frontends may need to be patched.
If you want to use the SVDRP ‘grab’ command, you’ll need mjpegtools (from Christian Marillat’s archive) and y4mscaler.
There are three methods to install vdr-plugin-xine on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install vdr-plugin-xine Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install vdr-plugin-xine using apt-get by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the vdr-plugin-xine package we can use the following command:

To remove vdr-plugin-xine configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
