How To Install vdr-plugin-live on Kali Linux

What is vdr-plugin-live
vdr-plugin-live is:
Live, the “Live Interactive VDR Environment”, is a plugin providing the possibility to interactively control the Linux Video Disc Recorder VDR and some of it’s plugins from a web interface.
Unlike external programs, like the VDR web frontend “VDRAdmin-AM”, that communicate with VDR via its SVDRP socket interface, Live has direct access to VDR’s data structures and thus is very fast.
There are three methods to install vdr-plugin-live on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install vdr-plugin-live Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install vdr-plugin-live using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install vdr-plugin-liveInstall vdr-plugin-live Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install vdr-plugin-live using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the vdr-plugin-live package we can use the following command:

To uninstall vdr-plugin-live and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove vdr-plugin-liveRemove vdr-plugin-live Configurations and Data
To remove vdr-plugin-live configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge vdr-plugin-liveRemove vdr-plugin-live configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
