How To Install vde-switch on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install vde-switch on Kali Linux.
What is vde-switch
vde-switch is:
VDE is a virtual switch that can connect multiple virtual machines together, both local and remote.
Components of the VDE architecture are VDE switches (virtual counterpart of ethernet switches) and VDE cables (virtual counterpart of a crossed-cable used to connect two switches).
This package contains vde_switch, the vde virtual switch
There are three methods to install vde-switch on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install vde-switch Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install vde-switch using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install vde-switchInstall vde-switch Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install vde-switch using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install vde-switchInstall vde-switch Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the vde-switch package we can use the following command:

To remove vde-switch configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge vde-switchRemove vde-switch configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
