How To Install v86d on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install v86d on Kali Linux.
What is v86d
v86d is:
v86d provides a backend for kernel drivers that need to execute x86 BIOS code. The code is executed in a controlled environment and the results are passed back to the kernel via the netlink interface.
v86d is needed by the uvesafb kernel module.
There are three methods to install v86d on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install v86d Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install v86d using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install v86dInstall v86d Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install v86d using apt by running the following command:

To uninstall only the v86d package we can use the following command:

To remove v86d configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
