How To Install uvccapture on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install uvccapture on Kali Linux.
What is uvccapture
uvccapture is:
The purpose of this software is to capture an image from a USB webcam at a specified interval, and save it to a JPEG file, no other formats are supported.
Right now this software is really a hack, since still image support is not yet available in the UVC driver. The program continually polls the UVC driver in MJPEG mode, and at a specified interval writes a JPEG header and a single frame to file, creating a JPEG image.
There are three methods to install uvccapture on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install uvccapture Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install uvccapture using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install uvccaptureInstall uvccapture Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install uvccapture using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the uvccapture package we can use the following command:

To uninstall uvccapture and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove uvccaptureRemove uvccapture Configurations and Data
To remove uvccapture configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge uvccaptureRemove uvccapture configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
