What is uuidd
The uuidd package contains a userspace daemon (uuidd) which guarantees uniqueness of time-based UUID generation even at very high rates on SMP systems.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install uuidd
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install uuidd.
Install uuidd on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install uuidd
