What is usermode-gtk
The usermode-gtk package contains several graphical tools for users to change their finger information. Usermount lets users mount, unmount, and format file systems. Userpasswd allows users to change their passwords. Install the usermode-gtk package if you would like to provide users with graphical tools for certain account management tasks.
We can use yum or dnf to install usermode-gtk on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install usermode-gtk.
Install usermode-gtk on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install usermode-gtk using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install usermode-gtk
Install usermode-gtk on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install usermode-gtk using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install usermode-gtk
How To Uninstall usermode-gtk on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the usermode-gtk package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove usermode-gtk
