How To Install upx-ucl on Debian 9

What is upx-ucl
upx-ucl is:
UPX is an advanced executable file compressor. UPX will typically reduce the file size of programs and DLLs by around 50%-70%, thus reducing disk space, network load times, download times etc. The current version can compress executables for DOS, Linux/ELF (i386, amd64, ppc32) and some other files for different OS.
NOTE: This package is based on the UCL library, which is licensed under GPL.
There are three methods to install upx-ucl
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install upx-ucl Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install upx-ucl
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install upx-ucl
Install upx-ucl Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install upx-ucl
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install upx-ucl
Install upx-ucl Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install upx-ucl
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install upx-ucl
How To Uninstall upx-ucl on Debian 9
To uninstall only the upx-ucl
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove upx-ucl
Uninstall upx-ucl And Its Dependencies
To uninstall upx-ucl
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove upx-ucl
Remove upx-ucl Configurations and Data
To remove upx-ucl
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge upx-ucl
Remove upx-ucl configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove upx-ucl
