What is unrtf
UnRTF is a command-line program written in C which converts documents in Rich Text Format (.rtf) to HTML, LaTeX, troff macros, and RTF itself. Converting to HTML, it supports a number of features of Rich Text Format * Changes in the text’s font, size, weight (bold), and slant (italic) * Underlines and strikethroughs * Partial support for text shadowing, outlining, embossing, or engraving * Capitalizations * Superscripts and subscripts * Expanded and condensed text * Changes in the foreground and background colors * Conversion of special characters to HTML entities
We can use yum
or dnf
to install unrtf
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install unrtf.
Install unrtf on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install unrtf
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install unrtf
Install unrtf on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install unrtf
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install unrtf
How To Uninstall unrtf on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the unrtf
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove unrtf
