How To Install units on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install units on Kali Linux.
What is units
units is:
GNU ‘units’ program converts quantities expressed in various scales to their equivalents in other scales. The ‘units’ program can only handle multiplicative scale changes directly. It uses a functional notation for non-proportional conversions such a Fahrenheit temperature to Celsius temperature.
This package includes the units_cur script to update currency conversion information; this script requires a Python 3 interpreter and the python3-requests library.
There are three methods to install units on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install units Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install units using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install unitsInstall units Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install units using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the units package we can use the following command:

To uninstall units and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

To remove units configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge unitsRemove units configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
