How To Install units on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install units on AlmaLinux 8.
What is units
Units converts an amount from one unit to another, or tells you what mathematical operation you need to perform to convert from one unit to another. The units program can handle multiplicative scale changes as well as conversions such as Fahrenheit to Celsius.
We can use yum or dnf to install units on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install units.
Install units on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install units using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install units
Install units on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install units using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install units
How To Uninstall units on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the units package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove units
