How To Install unicycler on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install unicycler on Kali Linux.
What is unicycler
unicycler is:
Unicycler is an assembly pipeline for bacterial genomes. It can assemble Illumina-only read sets where it functions as a SPAdes-optimiser. It can also assembly long-read-only sets (PacBio or Nanopore) where it runs a miniasm+Racon pipeline. For the best possible assemblies, give it both Illumina reads and long reads, and it will conduct a hybrid assembly.
There are three methods to install unicycler on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install unicycler Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install unicycler using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install unicyclerInstall unicycler Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install unicycler using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the unicycler package we can use the following command:

To uninstall unicycler and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove unicyclerRemove unicycler Configurations and Data
To remove unicycler configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge unicyclerRemove unicycler configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
