How To Install undbx on Debian 12

on Debian 12.
What is undbx
undbx is:
UnDBX is a tool to extract, recover and undelete e-mail messages from MS Outlook Express .dbx files (or similar e-mail programs in MS Windows). Corrupted .dbx files can be parsed to try to recover messages from it. It can also try to undelete messages, not only from Deleted Items but also from fragments of deleted messages that were not overwritten.
UnDBX is useful in forensics investigations.
There are three methods to install undbx
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install undbx Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install undbx
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install undbx

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install undbx
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install undbx
Install undbx Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install undbx
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install undbx
How To Uninstall undbx on Debian 12
To uninstall only the undbx
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove undbx
Uninstall undbx And Its Dependencies
To uninstall undbx
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove undbx
Remove undbx Configurations and Data
To remove undbx
configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge undbx
