How To Install unbound-host on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install unbound-host on Kali Linux.
What is unbound-host
unbound-host is:
This package provides the ‘unbound-host’ program that is bundled with the Unbound domain name server. This version differs from the one provided in the package called host, which is from NIKHEF, and bind9-host, which is from ISC, and has a similar but different set of features and options.
There are three methods to install unbound-host on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install unbound-host Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install unbound-host using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install unbound-hostInstall unbound-host Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install unbound-host using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install unbound-hostInstall unbound-host Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install unbound-host using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install unbound-hostHow To Uninstall unbound-host on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the unbound-host package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove unbound-hostUninstall unbound-host And Its Dependencies
To uninstall unbound-host and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove unbound-hostRemove unbound-host Configurations and Data
To remove unbound-host configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge unbound-hostRemove unbound-host configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove unbound-host configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge unbound-hostDependencies
