How To Install uima-utils on Debian 10

What is uima-utils
uima-utils is:
Apache UIMA is an implementation of the OASIS-UIMA specifications.
OASIS UIMA Committee: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/uima/.
Unstructured Information Management applications are software systems that analyze large volumes of unstructured information in order to discover knowledge that is relevant to an end user.
An example UIM application might ingest plain text and identify entities, such as persons, places, organizations; or relations, such as works-for or located-at.
This package provides the UIMA tools : annotationViewer, cpeGui, documentAnalyzer, jcasgen, runAE, runCPE, runPearInstaller, runPearMerger, runPearPackager
There are three methods to install uima-utils
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install uima-utils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install uima-utils
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install uima-utils

After updating apt database, We can install uima-utils

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install uima-utils
using aptitude

How To Uninstall uima-utils on Debian 10
To uninstall only the uima-utils
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove uima-utils

sudo apt-get -y autoremove uima-utils
