How To Install uim-mozc on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install uim-mozc on Kali Linux.
What is uim-mozc
uim-mozc is:
uim is an input method module library supporting various languages, which become a frontend for Anthy, SKK, Canna, T-Code, TUT-Code, Pinyin (Chinese input method), Hangul (Korean input method), IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), etc. Most of the functions are implemented with Scheme, so it’s very simple and flexible.
Mozc is a Japanese Input Method Editor (IME) designed for multi-platform such as Chromium OS, Windows, Mac and Linux.
uim-mozc provides client part of the Mozc input method.
There are three methods to install uim-mozc on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install uim-mozc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install uim-mozc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install uim-mozcInstall uim-mozc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install uim-mozc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install uim-mozcInstall uim-mozc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install uim-mozc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install uim-mozcHow To Uninstall uim-mozc on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the uim-mozc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove uim-mozcUninstall uim-mozc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall uim-mozc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove uim-mozcRemove uim-mozc Configurations and Data
To remove uim-mozc configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge uim-mozcRemove uim-mozc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove uim-mozc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge uim-mozcDependencies
