What is uim-mozc
uim-mozc is:
uim is an input method module library supporting various languages, which become a frontend for Anthy, SKK, Canna, T-Code, TUT-Code, Pinyin (Chinese input method), Hangul (Korean input method), IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet), etc. Most of the functions are implemented with Scheme, so it’s very simple and flexible.
Mozc is a Japanese Input Method Editor (IME) designed for multi-platform such as Chromium OS, Windows, Mac and Linux.
uim-mozc provides client part of the Mozc input method.
There are three methods to install uim-mozc
on Debian 12. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install uim-mozc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install uim-mozc
using apt-get

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install uim-mozc
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install uim-mozc
How To Uninstall uim-mozc on Debian 12
To uninstall only the uim-mozc
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove uim-mozc
Uninstall uim-mozc And Its Dependencies

and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
