How To Install uhd-host on Debian 10

In this tutorial we learn how to install uhd-host
on Debian 10.
What is uhd-host
uhd-host is:
Host utilities for the Universal Hardware Driver for Ettus Research products.
The supported devices provide analog radio receiver and transmitter hardware along with digital interfaces for getting signals to and from a software defined radio running on the host computer.
This package includes the uhd_find_devices application to locate and configure attached peripherals, the uhd_usrp_probe application to display hardware configuration information and Doxygen generated documentation.
There are three methods to install uhd-host
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install uhd-host Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install uhd-host
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install uhd-host

sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install uhd-host
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install uhd-host
Install uhd-host Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install uhd-host
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install uhd-host
How To Uninstall uhd-host on Debian 10
To uninstall only the uhd-host
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove uhd-host

sudo apt-get -y autoremove uhd-host
