How To Install ufod on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install ufod
on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is ufod
ufod is:
The UFO data processing framework is a C library suited to build general purpose streams data processing on heterogeneous architectures such as CPUs, GPUs or clusters. It is extensively used at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology for Ultra-fast X-ray Imaging (radiography, tomography and laminography).
A gobject-instrospection binding is also provided to write scripts or user interfaces.
This package contains the ufod daemon that serves computation requests from a remote master node.
There are three methods to install ufod
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ufod Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ufod
using apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install ufod

Install ufod Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

How To Uninstall ufod on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the ufod
package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove ufod
Remove ufod Configurations and Data

sudo apt-get -y purge ufod
